Audris G. Hampton In Memoriam

Audris G. “Audie” Hampton, Esq., who passed away in 2021, was not only a founding partner of Hampton & Pigott LLP, but also a deeply respected attorney and friend. With a legal career spanning nearly three decades, Mr. Hampton built a reputation for excellence in litigation, particularly in the areas of finance, commercial lending, and business transactions. His practice also extended into estate planning, probate, business formation, copyright law, and disputes in the arts and entertainment industries.

Mr. Hampton was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 1984, followed by the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado in 1985 and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals in 1989. He was also specially admitted to appear in federal cases across multiple states, including Arizona, California, Montana, Texas, and Wyoming.

Mr. Hampton earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Southern Illinois University in 1981, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis in 1984. Further refining his trial skills, he completed Advanced Certifications from the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and regularly contributed to trial advocacy training programs across Colorado and the nation.

Driven by a vision to redefine the client experience in legal services, Audie co-founded Hampton & Pigott with the goal of breaking away from the rigid structures of traditional law firms. He believed in providing exceptional legal representation that was both high-caliber and personal, eliminating unnecessary costs and complexity. That belief remains at the heart of the firm’s mission—offering clients clarity, compassion, and trusted counsel when they need it most.

Beyond his legal accomplishments, Mr. Hampton was an experienced business owner and advisor in both multi-state and international ventures. He was also a passionate advocate for the development of creative and talented youth, contributing to educational and mentorship initiatives designed to empower the next generation.

Audie was an active member of Broomfield United Methodist Church, where he served as a Discipleship Leader and mentor to small group leaders. He was a man of deep intellect and curiosity, with a love for apologetics, philosophy, music, mathematics, and the sciences. A lifelong learner, he also cherished time outdoors, especially on the golf course with his beloved wife, and found profound joy in the natural beauty of his adopted home in Colorado.

His presence, both in the legal world and the lives of those who knew him, continues to be deeply missed.
