David J. Pigott, Esq. is a practicing attorney based in Broomfield, Colorado, offering a broad legal portfolio that spans civil litigation, transactional matters, family law, and estate planning. He is licensed to appear before all Colorado county and district courts, the Colorado Court of Appeals, the Colorado Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and even the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Pigott holds active memberships in the Adams and Broomfield County Bar Association, the Colorado Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
As a founding partner at Hampton & Pigott LLP, Mr. Pigott brings a multifaceted legal background shaped by prior roles in both private practice and public service. His earlier experience includes work as an associate at a general practice firm in downtown Denver and roles within the offices of the Adams County District Attorney, the Manhattan District Attorney in New York, and the Colorado Attorney General.
Mr. Pigott earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado Law School in Boulder. He also holds an MBA from the University of Colorado and a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Before entering the legal field, Mr. Pigott served over five years as a U.S. Army officer, completing two tours in Iraq. His military service was recognized with numerous awards and honors, including two Bronze Stars, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Combat Action Badge, the Parachutist’s Badge, and the Air Assault Badge. He continues to serve in the Colorado National Guard as a Judge Advocate General (JAG).
Outside the courtroom, Mr. Pigott is a passionate hockey player and snowboarder. He’s also deeply engaged in his local community, holding past and present roles with organizations such as the Broomfield Chamber of Commerce and Broomfield FISH. He is the founder of The Brick Foundation and an active member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish. His interests extend to politics, economics, and the ever-evolving world of aerospace technology.
